The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is cheap, often leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.

But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have risen the cost of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.

In an area that has one of the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one organization is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
